Welcome Note
On behalf of the University management and the entire School of medicine Community, I take this opportunity to welcome to the School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Our prestigious medical School is accredited by all relevant accreditation authorities in Tanzania in in the East African Community which gives our graduate opportunities to practice in an outside Tanzania.
Our goal is to make sure you receive the best medical education and the best opportunity to reach your professional dreams and in return help the Government to meet the needs of the community today and in future.
The school runs programmes both non-degree, undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Medicine, Medical laboratory, Pharmacy its developing new programmes which addresses the country’s health needs.
The school is made up of academic Departments and Units which execute the three core functions: Teaching, Research and Community Service/Consultancy.
Medical Training is organized into two blocks: Blook I Covers Biomedical Sciences which include classroom activities, Laboratory works, and community exposure while Blok II covers hands-on Clinical apprenticeship in our affiliated teaching Hospitals.
Its our expectation that your choice to study medical Sciences and the University of Dodoma will equip with all the necessary competences that a required for a health care provider to master
Teaching Hospital
The University has a state-of the-art Teaching Hospital (Benjamin Mkapa Hospital which is located with the medical School compound which gives students easy access to real-life exposure to Clinical medicine.
As The University Uses Other Hospital as affiliated teaching Hospitals: Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital and Iringa Reginal Referral Hospital
