Principal College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences

Welcome Note

The College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) is one among the eleven academic units (Colleges, Schools and Institutes) within the University of Dodoma. The College, formerly known as the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, was established in 2011. The College is organized into four academic Departments: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics & Statistics, and Physics, and is governed by a College Board chaired by the Principal.

The vision of the college is to be a centre of excellence in education, training, research, innovation and public services for sustainable and inclusive global development in the area of natural and mathematical sciences. The college is committed in providing high-quality education and research in the Natural and applied sciences, in order to support the growth of Tanzania and the rest of the globe. The college has a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research and collaboration, and is engaged in partnerships with other academic institutions and organizations both domestically and abroad.

Currently the college has 184, staff members including 149 academic, 13 technical and 22 administrative staff. The academic team is made up of both domestic and international experienced professionals, guaranteeing that students receive a high quality education that meets international standards. The college is offering 14 postgraduate programmes, 10 undergraduate programmes and 2 specialty diploma programmes for both national and international students. The College is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities for the execution of its core functions.

Through its four academic departments, the College is doing cutting edge research in wide range of science discipline, helping to address local, national, and international challenges in accordance with the sustainable development goals. The college collaborates with several national and international academic and research institutes to guarantee the delivery of high-quality services in an effort to contribute to the strategic goals of the University.
