About Benatus

Dr. Benatus Norbert Mvile is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Physics at the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences, University of Dodoma, Tanzania. He obtained his PhD in Petroleum Geoscience from the Pan African University Life and Earth Science Institute (including Health and Agriculture), University of Ibadan in Nigeria in 2022, under the Pan African University Scholarship. Dr. Mvile also holds an MSc in Geophysics from the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom, which he obtained in 2015 through the BG International Scholarship Scheme for Engineering and Geoscience. He completed his undergraduate degree, a BSc with Education majoring in Physics and Mathematics, from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania in 2012.

Dr. Mvile started his academic career as a Tutorial Assistant at the University of Dodoma in November 2013 and was promoted to Assistant Lecturer in 2016 after successfully completing his MSc program. He was further promoted to a Lecturer position in 2021 based on his outstanding research publications while pursuing his PhD studies.

Dr. Mvile has been actively involved in various community and volunteering works and has held different positions at both department and college levels at the University of Dodoma. He has also contributed to writing different research proposals at the University. His research interest is focused on Exploration Geophysics, Environmental Geophysics, Extractive Industry Policies, and Energy Sector Management. His work in these areas has been published in various peer-reviewed journals.
