Expery Mathias Massawe graduated his first degree in Actuarial Sciences from the University of Dar es Salam. Subsequently, was delighted to be awarded a full scholarship to further his studies at the pan African and renowned African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)-Tanzania, where he graduated a master's degree in Mathematical Sciences, specializing in Stochastic Analysis and Pattern Identification Methods in Statistical Arbitrage.

Currently, he works as an assistant lecturer (Actuarial Statistics) at the department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Dodoma, Tanzania.

His research interests are on predictive modeling with applications in insurance, among others.
