About Joyce

Joyce Elisadiki is a Tanzanian female born in Kilimanjaro. She is currently a PhD student in Sustainable Energy Science and Engineering at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) specializing in Renewable energy. She pursued her M.Sc. in Physics (specializing in Nuclear Science), and B.Sc. Education (Physics and Chemistry) at University of Dar es Salaam. She is working as assistant lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University Dodoma. As assistant lecturer she is responsible for   teaching undergraduate Physics courses, supervising student’s individual projects and experiment/practical classes. Her current research interest focuses on water purification with energy efficient technologies to address water and energy issues. She is also interested in research based on materials for energy storage. Currently, she is working on synthesizing and characterizing porous carbon electrode materials derived from biomass for water purification using capacitive deionization technology.
