About Fransis
Fransis Mange is a highly educated and experienced Biostatistician and Epidemiologist, currently working as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of University of Dodoma. Previous He worked as a Families Matter Program Facilitator at T-MARC Tanzania where he was delivering a community based behavioural intervention to parents/caregivers. The Family Matter Program aimed to reduce sexual risk behaviours among adolescents, including delaying the onset of sexual debut; by giving parents the knowledge, skills, comfort and confidence to discuss sexuality issues with their children.
Fransis has Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Dodoma in Tanzania, a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Hasselt University in Belgium, and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
Throughout his academic and professional career, he has acquired expertise in a broad range of fields within Biostatistics and Epidemiology, including Cancer Research, Molecular Epidemiology, Clinical Trials, Reproductive Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases, Observational Research in Healthcare, Intervention Research in Healthcare, Planning of Health Studies, Measurements in Medicine (Clinimetrics), Computational Biology, Biomarker Research, Design and Analysis of Experiments, Spatial Epidemiology, Agent-Based Modelling, Survival Analysis, Systematic Literature Review, Meta-Analysis, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Hidden Markov Models, Multivariate Analysis, Bayesian inference, Mixed Effect Models, Finite Mixture Models, and Data Management.
Fransis is a proficient user of various statistical software packages, including R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, WinBUGS, OpenBUGS, and SQL, as well as other tools like Quantum GIS, NetLogo, CsPro, LaTeX, and MS Office.
He has good communication skills with ability to communicate with experts and non-experts through written reports and oral presentations.
Fransis has facilitated several trainings on different statistical software including SPSS, STATA, R, and SAS among governmental officials and University students.
