About Adam
Prof. Adam Mwakalobo is an Associate Professor in Agricultural and Development Economics at the University of Dodoma. As an economist Prof. Mwakalobo works on agricultural development economics, particularly focusing on areas revolving around the economics of rural household livelihoods, agricultural and rural development to include seed market development, improved agricultural technologies and post-harvesting technologies. His works particularly focus on economic planning; policy analysis; rural financial markets and microfinance; economic impact analysis of tourism; economics of climate change impacts mitigation and adaptation; and economics of institutional arrangements in natural resource management. He has extensively written on smallholder farming systems, food security, livelihood, HIV/AIDS and poverty. Prof. Mwakalobo has extensive experiences in carrying out monitoring and evaluation studies. He has also been involved in Carrying out Funded Research Project in rural development; conducting competitive Consultancy and outreach activities. Of note, he was a Consultant for the End-line Evaluation of the Global Poverty Action Fund (GPAF), commissioned by BRAC Tanzania. He teaches and has been also involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate Students at one point in one and/or either of the following courses: Project Planning and Management; Economic Policy Planning and Programming; Agricultural Policy and Planning; Research Methodology; Advanced Public Finance; Development Economics I & II, Economics of Rural Livelihoods.
