Salma Maneno Masawa is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dodoma's College of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering. She holds a bachelor Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering as well as Master of Science in Renewable Energy from the University of Dar es Salaam. Renewable and Electrical Engineering Fundamentals, Solar Thermal Conversion, Hydropower, Unit operations, Wind Energy, Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Cell Design and Technologies are among the courses she teaches. Her research interests include bioenergy, solar thermal conversion technologies, solar photovoltaics and solar cells fabrications and designs.  She is currently a PhD student in Engineering at North China Electric Power University in Beijing, China, majoring on Renewable Energy and Clean Energy.  Her current research is based on the chemistry of solar cells materials, specifically the fabrication of perovskite solar cells utilizing lead-free, non-toxic, inorganic materials.
