The department of Accounting and Finance is one of the three Departments of the College of Business and Economics at The University of Dodoma. The department offers two undergraduate degree programmes namely; Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, and two postgraduate programmes namely; Master of Science in Accounting and Finance, and PhD in Accounting and Finance. The programmes offered provide students with an excellent education that prepares them to work in different organizations as accountants, auditors, financial analysts, tax officers, bankers, risk analysts, investment experts, and researchers, to mention a few. The department hosts approximately 750 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The department has five coordination units namely; Undergraduate Unit, Postgraduate Unit, Time Table and Examination Unit, Research and Consultancy unit, and Quality Assurance Unit. Each coordination unit is headed by a member of the academic staff and is responsible for coordinating activities related to his unit.

The department is equipped with qualified and experienced academic staff specializing in the area of Accounting and Finance. The department teaches more than 60 courses each year across the university. Apart from teaching, the department engages in research activities, consultancy and outreach services to the community.
