About Wilhelm

I am a Lecturer and a recent  Post-Doctoral Researcher under the Convivial Conservation project (https://conviva-research.com/) and the coordinator for research and publication activities in the Department of Geography and environmental studies at the University of Dodoma.  Having trained in Wildlife conservation and environmental governance, my research interests include environment and wildlife conservation  social sciences, political ecology  and conservation data justice. My current research work focuses on human-wildlife conflicts, exploring pathways to coexistence between lions and humans in the Great Ruaha-Rungwa Ecosystem.  I have worked for the WWF Tanzania where I focused mainly in community wildlife management   before joining the University of Dodoma. I teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of natural resource use and conservation, environmental economics, sustainable development, disaster governance and climate change. I have saved as a reviewer  for various reputable journals  and served as  co-editor in Conservation and Society Special issue (2002). I am a co editor of a  forthcoming book (exploring convivial conservation in Theory and Practice) and  I have published in both peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
