About Nyemaga
Nyemaga Masanje Malima is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Dodoma. He also worked as a Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education from 2013 to 2017. He received his first degree (Bachelor of Education in Science) from the University of Dodoma in 2011, and MSc. degree in Chemistry from University of Dar es Salaam in 2017. His research interest focuses on the synthesis and characterization of both bulk and nanostructured materials for energy, gas sensing, environmental and biomedical applications. His research interest is also extended to diverse aspects of Environmental and Analytical Chemistry, from fundamental aqueous speciation of heavy metals to pollution characterization and remediation. He has conducted investigations on the efficacy of native and modified Kaolin clays as environmentally benign and affordable adsorbents for sequestration of heavy metals from water. He has also worked on the synthesis and characterization of metal oxide-based nanocomposites for biomedical applications. Currently, he is conducting PhD in Chemistry in the area of Material chemistry/Nanochemistry at the University of Zululand, South Africa. His current research project is focused on developing functional nanostructured materials for energy applications, with a special focus on the synthesis of nanoscopic spinel oxide solid solutions using a blend of single source precursors.
