About Philbert

Mr. Philbert Komba is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dodoma (UDOM), College of Education, Department of Educational Psychology and Curriculum Studies. He is a holder of a Master of Arts in Education and a Bachelor Degree of Education in Information and Communication Technology (Bed ICT)  both from the University of Dodoma, Tanzania in 2019 and 2014 respectively. He joined the University of Dodoma, as a Tutorial Assistant in 2016. Since 2016, he has been teaching supervising seminars and tutorials for degree classes. In addition, he has been working with and learning from senior staff members in areas such as teaching, research and curriculum development. He has gained a vast level of experience in his engagement in various research projects such as Language Supportive Pedagogy Project, Hisabati ni Maisha Project and Teacher Education Support Project (TESP). In TESP, Komba has been involved in three major assisgnmens; TESP Mid-term Project review, TESP M&E and Strategizing for TESP Sustainability and Continuity. He has also worked on issues related to curriculum development with the Tanzania Institute of Education (T.I.E) at different times and capacities. Komba worked on Teachers' ICT competencies for Professional Development as part of his master's research work. Currently, Komba is a PhD scholar under the DOCEHTA project a collaborative project between UDOM, MUHAS and the University of Oslo (Norway). The project targets to improve doctoral education in Tanzania. On this base, Komba is working on Supervision practices for doctoral students in the health programmes in Tanzania as part of his doctoral project.
