Ismail J. Ismail has been working with The University of Dodoma under the School of Business Studies and Economics (SBSE), College of Business Studies and Law (CBSL) of The University of Dodoma (UDOM) on a full-time basis for more than six years now. In addition to the formal training function, Ismail has been extensively conducting research, supervising students’ projects and research (at the undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. levels), publishing articles and offering consultancy services to various public and private organizations. His academic background stems from agricultural economics and agribusiness sandwiched with business management and executive management programmes giving him a good blend into the multidisciplinary nature of the center and the institute as a whole.

His major areas of expertise and interest include analysis of agricultural markets, marketing, consumer behavior, Managerial competency, Monitoring and evaluation, Development programmes/projects, Social science research, Community participation and Strategic planning. With respect to capacity building, Ismail has been a facilitator in various fields including (but not limited to) Customer service, Report writing, Teaching and learning approaches, Building of effective subordinates, Open Performance Review and Appraisal System (OPRAS), Development of strategic plans and Change management.
