College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) has organized the Science Day which will take place on 16th June 2023 with the theme “Science and Technology for Economic Transformation”. This day brings together staff, students and members of the University of Dodoma (UDOM) community to share experiences and accomplishments, as well as to showcase science research and innovation projects.

The day will be preceded with outreach activities, sports and games for CNMS staff, students and the surrounding community.

Under the outreach activities, CNMS visited nearby secondary schools including Ntyuka, Iyumbu Ng’ong’ona and Sechelela to emphasis on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects and help students to conduct some practicals in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. CNMS also shared with students the application of mathematics in real life. This outreach program will be conducted for three days (12th to 14th June 2023).

The official opening of the outreach program took place at Iyumbu secondary School. Guest of honour was Dodoma city secondary education officer Ms. Zainabu M. Abdallah.

This outreach program will:
1. Enhance a good neighborhood between UDOM and the surrounding schools
Establish collaboration with schools to building

2. professional capacity in science subjects and mathematics.

3. Motivate students to love STEM related subjects which are the pillar for any nation that relies on positive economic transformation.
